I haven't been able to find any examples of flower arrangements that I like to help decorate our ceremony space (an old lodge in a state park), so I'm thinking about doing something with decorative branches instead. (like these: www.nettletonhollow.com/branches.html)
Has anyone seen photos of decorative branches used for wedding decor? I'd love to see some inspiration/examples

Yes! A friend of mine had a New Year's Eve wedding. They took branches from trees, spray-painted them white and silver and attached them to two-by-fours and stood them up to look like a winter forest.
Here's one that shows the backdrop of the stage where they had their ceremony. This was taken at the end of the reception so things were a little messy by then. (tidbit: I'm the one in the middle between FH and another friend)

they also put some in vases for the tables during the reception:

The one tip I have is that if the branches are going to be brittle, have some extra on hand, since they may break easily.

Does anyone know where to get chestnut branches? The chestnuts look like green pom-poms when they are in bloom. An internet search did not yield any worthwhile results.
Dozeroni Could you tell me where the photo w/the red branch and birds is from?
If anyone is looking for birds Bill's Flower Market in New York has them. I think you can also order them online.

I've used branches once in a centerpiece. I spray painted the branches gold and put them in a vase with peacock feathers for a NYE party.
This weekend for my partner's art showing I was going to use white branches and spray paint the tips of each branch with silver sparkle paint so that just the ends sparkled but due to time contraints went with a more simple centerpiece.
I wish I had taken pictures of the the gold branches and peacock feather centerpiece because it was very pretty and I got a lot of complements.
My own approach would be to instruct them to cram it with walnuts, but that's another story.

Hello,
I am getting married in October and have loved the look of the manzantita branches and and want to create a look that will add to the theme of "enchanted forest during the fall season." Ambitious perhaps, but I am determined to do it while on a budget. I'm not going to do anything elaborate. but I want to know if anyone has doe this type of thing before. I looked at the instructions one of the other brides listed, but wanted to know if anyone else (other than a florist) did something lke this and how they went about doing it.
Thanks!
Katherine

I love these looks but I'd like to do it myself, has anyone found any online branch vendors other than Pier 1? I'm in the Los Angeles area so if anyone knows any retailers out here that would work too.
Thanks!

I love looking at everyone's ideas on this thread!
I have a question for my fellow paper flower making brides out there...if you are making them ahead of time...say now, but your wedding, is oh, lets say 9.29.07...how do you plan on storing them, so they don't get messed up or all dusty?? I have time on my hands to make them now, but I don't know how to store them. Especially if I make all that I need right now. By the way, I got a paper source pattern from another IB...it's a magnolia pattern...I tried it the other day using paper from nepalesepaper.com, and they look really great!
FoxBride--I really like the sticks around the votive holder.

I wish I did live near you. I've just been looking at the curly willow centerpieces today & think they're great!
This thread has been a great resource for ideas.
