okay, we finally got married.
i'm going to keep the boring details out of this.
here is a picture of our invitations:

here is a picture of the gifts i got my bridesmaids/friends:

i guess i should have taken a picture before i wrapped them. i handed them out at my debauched and unholy bachelorette party that should never be discussed again.
so along the way, there had been one load of bullshit after another about this wedding. it was a nightmare. literally everything got fucked up at one point or another. so the night before my wedding, i picked up my cake. seriously the ugliest thing i've ever seen in my life. it looked like a child made it and parts were literally broken off and just laying on the cake randomly. here is the masterpiece:

here is what i did with it:

funny, yes. therapeutic, yes. crazy, yes.
so my sister and friend and i ran around panicking trying to figure out what the fuck to do. we went to hobby lobby to get matching flowers and kroger and three hours later, came out with a much much much better looking cake:

sorry about the shitty picture, but there are some great ones in the wedding pictures.
the day of the wedding was really tense. my hair appointment was a disaster which ran an hour late. so at an hour and a half before the wedding, i was in jeans with no makeup and hair that had to be redone somehow last minute. i'm still not super thrilled with the way it turned out, but my friend helped me out big time. seriously, it was ridiculous.
so the wedding went really really great. walking down the aisle (which was ridiculously long) was literally the most awkward experience of my life. i hated it. but the wedding was fucking great. and the reception was fucking great. and the wedding night (at bernheim mansion thanks to an awesome friend who also happens to be my photographer) was fucking great.
here's what you've all been waiting for. the pictures!
http://www.kriechphoto.com/06.09.06/
and the honeymoon in jamaica was the best time of my life mon. haha just kidding. but seriously, the best time of my life.

i'm sure it's cliched to say, but i can't believe it's over. it was awesome and now i'm married to the coolest guy in the world! yay!

Congratulations, Crow! I'm still loading the wedding pics, but you are rocking that dress! Too bad about the cake-- what the hell is up with some bakers? I had a friend whose cake literally caved in on itself before the wedding, and proceeded to melt even though we put it in a giant walk in refrigerator!
Oh, and I've always loved your invites. Congrats again!

crow, this is amazing. I am so proud of you for pulling off such a graceful, evil, spectacularly personal and unholy event. I love it ALL: your tattoos, the veil, the DRESS, the BMs dresses, your hair, your fella's suit, the candles at the altar, your bouquet (you used peacock feathers! love it!), the black reception stole, the cake toppers. Your kiss looks so passionate and real and the goofy smile on your face as you exit the ceremony is so telling. You look like a gorgeous pinup star at her bash. I can't rave enough about it.
Oh, and fuck that cake. It deserved to get smashed in the street.
Gorgeous, unique, amazing, fabulous, dark, stunning, and supremely personal. You pulled it off and made it look TOUGH. You fucking rule.
Love,
Sugar Plum

And whoever thought that you would pay money for that ass cake? It looked much better smashed on the street!
LOVE the 6.6.6 detail, how perfect!

did you make the bridal-minions boquets?
i love them! the feathers! the colour!
it's almost making me have an opinion about flowers, rather than turning them over to my FMIL.
do tell the bouquet details! (incl. flower/berry names).
thanks!

just plain hot
wow, what a kick ass wedding!
the first cake looks like it was created by someone who is seriously mentally ill. i kind of love it actually. would have enjoyed seeing the reaction to it at the wedding. but your cake creation was fantastic!

That is, by far, the coolest thing I've ever seen. All of it -- the dresses, the impromptu cake, the two of you, your ability to keep it "you" throughout. I told SO, and now he wants to smash cake in the middle of the reception, just because you're his new idol.
Love it.

HAHAHA oh my god, it so does.
I only had a second to post earlier, but I wanted to say that everything was absolutely, positively gorgeous (minus weird cake #1!): the peacock feather bouquets, your amazing dress, your man's sexy suit, cake #2 (I'm so impressed!), your bridesmaids' sexy lil black dresses, everything! And you & your man are hot. Hot separately, and totally hot together.
And you & I have the same hair

Crow you have such a great figure and what a cool femme fatale look! Your wedding was so chicly subversive. I really want to know the full story behind that cake...it kind of looked like Castle Greyskull.

Crow, wow! I think I've previously posted how hot I think you look in that dress. Now, I'm jealous that you have such a complete vision of who you are and how you carried that through the wedding. Amazing.

Others have already said it, but you've seriously inspired me. My dress is the same color as yours, and my bridesmaid dress(es) are going to be black, and I would have never considered peacock feathers. Now that I've seen them in your wedding, I can't get them out of my head... absolutely gorgeous. Everything about your wedding was gorgeous! I was planning on having no flowers, but yours are making me reconsider... Also, I have seen pretty much every wedding cake there is on the internet, and yours is seriously the first one I've really liked (not counting the ones that don't really look like cake, i.e. ones that look like haunted castles)! What is that red stuff sprinkled on it? Love it.
I love to see nontraditional brides in all of their beauty
ETA: I just remembered who you make me think of... Bettie Page! It may only be a slight resemblance, but I definitely see it.
