i finally took some pictures of our invitations. we spent a lot of time on these! i did a lot of the graphic design myself as that's my day job, we silk screened the outer envelope with the help of an awesome friend, and all of the type is hand set and letter pressed by 3rd termite... a very cool letterpress in pittsburgh. i spent every tuesday evening at her shop for a month and a half planning and printing these things! I selected all of the paper on my own, most of it is recycled or has some recycled content.

it's difficult to tell, but the mailing envelope is glassine, so you can see the silk screened envelope really well. there isn't a photo of the rsvp envelope, but it's the same craft brown paper as the thank you card envelope.

it sort of makes me wish that my full time job was designing and letterpressing wedding invitations!

anyway, here are some pictures.

Oh, wow. Those are perhaps the best invitations I've seen in a really long time. I love the see-through envelopes, and I really love the corrugated-looking envelopes, too. And the letterpress is amazing. And the botanical design is excellent, too. The whole "parts of poppies" theme is amazing. You did a really, really nice job (from one designer to another...) Smile

I love them.

P.S. How did you do the internal flowers (i.e. the ones that aren't on the cover)? They almost look letterpressed, too...but are they printed or silk screened? I usually really don't like the look of silk screened designs (totally a personal preference), but you're making me really want to give it a closer look. These are beautiful.
